Thats all
Now not necessarily that i have an attitude problem. I got some interesting feed backs for a previous post regarding my spirituality or unspirituality from fellow bloggers and non bloggers as well. Simon suggested that i might be interested in reading a ceratin topic about humanism. And i did. See how compliasant i am although i am not a child (i do feel like a child many times. *the tantrums* grrrr..).Thats me. :)

hmmm. very close i guess simon. Have u seen the 5 postulates of humanistic psychology. They are :

* 1) Human beings cannot be reduced to components.
* (2) Human beings have in them a uniquely human context.
* (3) Human consciousness includes an awareness of oneself in the context of other people.
* (4) Human beings have choices and responsibilities.
* (5) Human beings are intentional, they seek meaning, value and creativity.
Dont they sound perfect. Well almost i would say, because nothing is perfect.

Worth reading more mate..from here :)

Does holistic or holism ring any bells.

I still ponder on the fact why i reacted by saying all those percentages (for those who have forgotten ..well its just that i told some one that i am 25% muslim, 25% atheist, 25% bhuddhist and 25% Jew. )

I think all (not only the above mentioned 4) religions (not that i include the wiered ones) that exist in this world have their good points and bad points as well. So may be ...just may be ok... that what my unconscious mind told me at that time was that if i combine all the religions in the world and accepted those qualities that are considered as being "good" by the "what ever" or "society"...then that would have been a good answer to my friends friend. Thats all. Am i making any sense here because i am pathetic with my psych stuff.

good night sweeties. sleep well . muah.

hi missy i dont think theres any problem with the way u reacted to that question.but there maybe a hint of guilty feelings in ur answer ,coz thats why she had the chance to retort the crap she did.its ur right to be whatever u want to be.and as for her all i can say is that she is very unsure about her faith in her religion as well as her faith in people.but i admire the thoughts in ur head.

Missy,

In my opinion religion, as in the word of God, is good enough if you take the human stain that has accumulated over the millennia.

More than anything, today, it does not suffice to to ask questions - instead, we need to ask the RIGHT questions and find the answers to them. In my opinion and in my domain "Blind" faith has no place.

The attrocities commited against humanity in the name of religion (that too in the name of God) is too numerous and too bloody - it has always been that way of course - that one begins to wonder why we have been sent here with a self-destruct button in the first place.

The humanistic approach was created as a progression from behaviorism - and we've come a long way from there onwards. Cognitive and evolutionary approaches have trumped and gotten rid of many of the ideals once held dear... We are far from understanding the total picture of the mind, but studies towards creating a "Theory of Mind" is inching closer. And its sketching a different picture...

Humans love to paint bright pictures in their minds in which they are at the center of the entire realm they can perceive. First the sun revolved around the earth and now we supposedly are the only living beings in the trillion plus stars to populate the visible universe. Why? Coz it gives people hope. Like in the five postulates u mentioned. Like religion! It offers salvation from impending death and doom. It adds value to being the animal/machine we are ..

Believe what you will and be confident of it. No one knows the correct answers to the big questions :)

hmm...these days its all 'religion' talk in the mvblogosphere...and to this point..of all comments on all blogs..i liked and agree to jaa's here...which is..in my own words.. 'dont try to impose anything...no one have enough facts..enough proof...everyone is confused..well atleast i am.SO be happy with what you believe.' bud that does not mean these discussions and questioning must end..after all this is a free world (not Maldives).

I did hear about the cognitive and evolutionary paradigms. Cognitive concept is widely accepted in rearing children these days, i guess. Hope, is what we need to move forward. Hope, different people may find in different ways, things, activities etc..Even if some one seeks hope in machinery or robots, thats fine. When there is no other option left only people go to god or seek spiritual means and there is nothing wrong with that either.
