Adoption the new craze. Why not?
Like any other day I woke up early today and had my brekkie while reading the news. It has been quiet some time that Madonna’s adoption controversy has been going on. Adoption has been the talk of the web recently starting with Angelina’s adoption of Maddox and Zahara.

The most recent adoption news that took to the airs was that of Madonna, and the media did not treat it with the respect it deserves.

The controversy has given people like me an opportunity to make up the mind in adopting a poor kid. Some might call it buying the black. There was an uproar from rights groups as well. Whose rights are they talking about I ask my self. A single child or children in general? What is wrong with helping a single child. If Madonna had given a chunk of her wealth as a donation as many celebrities do, the money would have gone in to the dinner table of the kings of those countries rather than the children who desperately needs it. We saw headlines from “So now we are taking babies from Africa ..if they are cute”, Madonna steals baby from Africa to things such as …why didn’t they adopt from US. There are rumors that the baby’s father didn’t know about the adoption process. So much controversy that a good intention in helping a poor kid from a third world country has been tainted. Now, Madonna has come back, rightly I would say, and blasted those critics on Oprah which will be aired world wide sometime tomorrow. She seems to have said that

"I feel the media is doing a great disservice to all the orphans of Africa, period, not just the orphans of Malawi"."Here's what I knew. David had been living in this orphanage since he was two weeks old," Madonna says. "He had survived malaria and tuberculosis, and no one from his extended family had visited him since the time he arrived. So from my perspective, there was no one looking after David's welfare."

I can’t wait to see the full thing. Even Ricky Martin wants to adopt now.

I was particularly interested in adoption and babies in Africa, when I learned that one of my close friends was unable to conceive with a baby through normal means. Why Africa one might say. Everyday we see those kids starving on TV. And when people do help them, the media has something foul to say about it. Even while I was a kid I thought why anyone isn’t helping these babies that I see on TV. As I grew older I shed tears seeing those scenes and lately , I think when I see or read about them. Think a lot I mean. May be that curiosity in me as a child has helped me in making me realize how precious life and love is. If you are asking the question whether I would adopt, the answer is a big fat YES. When I am old enough to care for a baby and when I am ready (that includes financial status as well) I would adopt rather than have my own children and consider the ones who I adopt as my own children, care for them and love them dearly with all my heart. Genes doesn’t matter. Color doesn’t matter. Whether they came from my eggs doesn’t matter. All that matters is making a difference to a kid in need. Why not adopt?

Right. Adopt and sexually abuse them or neglect them.
